A working meeting of the Abkhaz delegation, led by Oleg Bartsits, Foreign Minister was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Syrian Arab Republic.

His Beatitude Patriarch John X received the Abkhaz delegation at the Patriarchal Residence in Damascus. The meeting included a warm and informative conversation, discussing issues of mutual interest.

The delegation includes Jamal Bganba, Head of the Department of Strategic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Artur Gagulia, Head of the Department of the Middle East and Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The pavilion of the Republic of Abkhazia opened at the 63-rd Damascus International Fair. The pavilion is designed in a style of reflecting the culture, traditions, and natural heritage of the Republic of Abkhazia. The design incorporates national symbols and recognizable elements of Abkhazian architecture and culture, emphasizing the country's distinctive character.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ahmad al-Sharaa, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Latifa al-Droubi, First Lady, representatives of the Syrian government, and the heads of delegations from participating countries.

On August 26, 2026, a trilateral meeting was held between Alexander Vataman, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic; Dmitry Sorokin, Colonel, Senior Military Commander of the Russian Federation Peacekeeping Forces; and Vitaly Yankovsky, Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

On August 26, 2026, Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Alexander Vataman, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR, and Vitaly Yankovsky, the Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the PMR, in the office of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Vitaly Ignatyev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR also participated in the meeting.

On the 18th anniversary of the international recognition of the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia, the leadership and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia honored the memory of Vladislav Ardzinba, the first President of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The leadership and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia participated in a flower-laying ceremony at the memorial to those who died in the 1992-1993 Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia in the Park of Glory in Sukhum in honor of the 18-th anniversary of the international recognition of the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia.

Akhsar Dzhioyev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia sent a letter of gratitude to Khibla Amichba, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Federal Republic of Germany for his initiative in disseminating of objective information about the events of August 2008.
