The meeting was attended by Dr. Hisham Khat, head of the Adyghe Khase organization in Syria; Dr. Yahya Ibrahim, member of the Syrian People's Assembly-Parliament; elders Fahmi Chichba and Abdarahman Bagasa; and representatives of the Gechba, Argun, and Aryuta families.

Welcoming the participants, Oleg Bartsits thanked them for their participation and noted the importance of maintaining and strengthening ties with compatriots living abroad.

Oleg Bartsits spoke about his participation in the 63-rd Damascus International Fair, noting that this year the Abkhaz pavilion had expanded and presented a wider range of information about the country, its economy, production, and business.
"We want all our brothers who live in Syria and Damascus to come and be with us—Abkhazians, Adyghe, Circassians—so that all the people of Syria can see how Abkhazia lives and develops," he remarked.

During the meeting, the state and prospects for developing of bilateral relations between Abkhazia and Syria were discussed.
The minister announced planned talks with representatives of the Syrian government, noting the expansion of the co
untry's transport capacity, the development of the tourism industry, and prospects for cooperation in culture and trade.

"Today, Abkhazia's opportunities are growing. Abkhazia is developing, and our ally, the Russian Federation is helping us in this. We want to develop relations with all countries that are willing to talk to us and treat Abkhazia with respect," he stated.
Representatives of the diaspora supported the development of relations between the two countries.

Fahmi Chichba, an elder of the Abkhaz-Adyghe diaspora in Syria, thanked the Abkhaz delegation for their visit and expressed hope for the further strengthening of relations between Syria and Abkhazia.

"Thank you, welcome to Syria. We are very pleased with your visit to Syria and participation in the exhibition. "We must continue to work to improve relations between Syria and Abkhazia," he noted.
The head of Adyghe Khase in Syria, Dr. Hisham Qat, emphasized the historical ties between Abkhazia and the Adyghe diaspora, specifically noting the support Abkhazia provided to the Adyghe during difficult times.
"We cannot forget that Abkhazia did not back down, extended a helping hand, and always supported us, all the Adyghe," he said.
He expressed special gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to Syria, Mohammed Ali, for his constant attention and support of the diaspora.

Dr. Yahya Ibrahim, a member of the Syrian People's Assembly-Parliament, also welcomed the Abkhaz delegation and expressed hope for the further development of bilateral relations.

"We hope that relations will continue to develop at the highest level." "I will do everything in my power and am confident that everyone present will be supportive," the deputy stated.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
