The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a note of condolence to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on the anniversary of the tragedy in Beslan.
It is noted, in particular:
"On September 1-3, 2004, as a result of a monstrous terrorist attack against students, parents, and teachers at School No. 1 in Beslan, more than three hundred innocent people, the vast majority of whom were children were killed. This crime became one of the most horrific manifestations of international terrorism, shocking the entire world with its cruelty and inhumanity.
The Republic of Abkhazia honors the memory of the victims of the Beslan tragedy and consistently views the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations as one of the most important tasks requiring a decisive and consistent response from the international community."
